Certificate awards for the students of Hebei University of Foreign Studies
Students of Hebei University of Foreign Studies have completed their eight-month study at “John Naisbitt” University. On this occasion on Monday, May 30, 2016, the celebration of the end of their studies was organized, when Chinese students were awarded certificates on their successful completion of the studies.

At the closing ceremony our dear students – Hana, Jugoslav, Ljilja, Ljubica, Maša, Ranka, Sneža,Tito and Višnja demonstrated their progress during these eight months, i.e. their knowledge of the Serbian language by singing, talking, and reciting in Serbian. They were supported in that by their Serbian colleagues, the students who study Chinese within the Chinese Center.

The ceremony was opened by the Director of the China Center, Ms Katarina Zakić, who introduced the audience to the program of Chinese students during the previous months and the knowledge that they gained in the course. She underlined that in addition to intensive courses of the Serbian language conducted by Professor Natasa Kostic and Jovan Loncar, the students also attended the courses that prepared them for volunteering at the next 16 + 1 Summit to be held in Tangshan in China. In that regard, the students had lectures on Serbian history, culture and tradition, but also on Serbian economy. After that, a series of lectures was organized in the field of international business and management, intercultural management and communication, as well as topical lectures related to the importance of the 16 + 1 Summit and the New Silk Road, and the impact of these projects on the development of Serbia. The lectures were given by prof. Dr. Ana Jovancai Stakic, Assistant professor Katarina Zakić, Assistant professor Nataša Kostić, Sun Sinquan and Aleksandar Janković.

Students also had the opportunity to attend two international conferences held at “John Naisbitt” University and listen to lectures by eminent international experts including John and Doris Naisbitt, Stephen Rhinesmith, Sung Jo Park, Jean-Jacques Chanaron and Die Nader de El Andari.

After that, in the official program the Chinese students, together with their Serbian colleagues, sang the song Bella ciao from the movie “Valter defends Sarajevo”. This song was chosen because it represents the friendship that links the Serbian and Chinese people through arts. That was followed by Ljubica, Masha and Ranka reading their essays written in the classes, and selected by their professor as the best. The students continued the program with the song “Tamo daleko”, which was followed by the recitals of the most beautiful Serbian poetry.

On behalf of all professors who taught Chinese students, Professor Kostic welcomed the audience and thanked Chinese students on their hard work and commitment to learning Serbian language, underlining that they are always welcome in Serbia.
At the end of the program, Vice rector for international cooperation, professor Dr. Ana Jovancai Stakic welcomed students on her own behalf expressing her satisfaction to be with the students again in two weeks’ time at the 16 + 1 Summit in China, and looking forward to seeing them there again.

The best female students over the past eight months, with an average grade of 10.00, were Hana and Višnja, while the male student assessed with highest grades by professors in all courses was Tito.

That marked a successful study completion of our dear students from China. On behalf of all employees of “John Naisbitt” University and The Chinese Center we would like to thank them on nice cooperation, wish them all the best in their further studies, and invite them to visit us again!
